This is a special build, it’s for my neighbor, Stacie!  She has been thinking about updating her Kuota for a while, and this is the result.  First we did a gearing refresh with new chain rings, chain, and a wider range cassette which will allow her to stay in the big ring longer before dropping down to the small chain ring.  Next, we did a set of custom wheels, set up with new Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires.  Boyd 60mm carbon clincher rims are well made and competitively priced, they’re also wide, tubeless ready, and have a modern rounded aero shape for predictable handling in cross winds.  Bitex hubs are well made and reasonably priced, and come in lots of colors.  With a weight of 1581g, these wheels are over 100g lighter than the Zipp 404 Firecrest, have two extra spokes up front for more stiffness and better handling, they’re tubeless ready with a wider inner width for a better tire profile and volume, and a bit more aero.  They’re also several hundred dollar less expensive, and no worries about the hubs being warrantied due to spoke ejection.

The 23mm tubeless Pro One's plump up to closer to 26mm thanks to the wide rim width. It's a great pairing, the tire sidewall edge is nice and flush with the rim sidewall for improved aerodynamics.
