Tim was looking for a wider and stiffer wheelset than the stock pieces on his Trek, which have started breaking spokes recently.  The WTB Frequency rims tick all the boxes for a tough set of rims, and their internal ‘I-beam’ wall improves radial stiffness and strength without a huge weight penalty – a nice benefit since Tim wants to do more enduro style racing.  The I9 hubs are made in Asheville and have 120 points of engagement for instant ‘GO!’ when you stomp the pedals.  Wheelsmith spokes are also made in the USA and are a nice mid weight option that is a good fit for Tim’s weight and riding style paired with the stiff WTB rims.  Enjoy ’em, Tim!

The new lime green color from I9 is sweet, and the white spokes flanking the valve are a great look.
