Joe bought a singlespeed Specialized a while back and has had problems with the stock wheels rear hub, so he wanted to upgrade. The Hadley singlespeed rear hub has a short cassette body that still allows some fine-tuning of the chainline, but allows for wider flange spacing to build into a stiffer and stronger rear wheel. Like the standard geared hub it’s made in the USA and has a fast 72 points of engagement with very little drag or noise. The WTB Frequency rims are a bit on the burly side so Joe doesn’t have to worry about babying them, and we used the narrower and slightly lighter i23 rim on the rear and the wider i25 up front. The wider front rim will pair nicely with the big front tire Joe uses – the bike is rigid, so every little bit of cushion from the tires helps. Red hubs, nipples, and two red spokes per wheel will look great on his red and black bike.
