Anne is building up a new go-anywhere disc brake road bike that will use on all paved rides as well as lots of mixed surface riding and even some light trail use here and there.  She wanted trouble free hubs and tubeless ready rims, and being a light weight herself she wanted to keep the wheelset weight to a minimum.  The White Industries CLD hubs are my favorite disc brake road hubs on the market.  They’re exceptionally well made, are made in the USA, have super durable bearings, a titanium freehub body, and a very low drag freehub mechanism.  The American Classic 101 rims are very light at only 388g each – these rims are not well suited to everyone, but for this application for Anne they’ll work perfectly.  They are tubeless ready and have locking bumps to help prevent burps.  We did a 28 spoke build front and rear with 3-cross lacing using light weight DT Swiss Revolution spokes, and brass nipples round out the package.
