Wayne has a Chameleon that’s been converted to 650B that he really enjoys, but he wanted to upgrade the wheels to something nicer than the budget set currently on the bike.  Wayne is a bigger guy, so his wheels were built stout.  Chris King hubs are made in Portland, OR and are crazy reliable, even under riders who can throw down a lot of torque, thanks to the unique Ring Drive freehub mechanism.  The Flow EX rims are wide, stiff, and strong, all at a reasonable weight when considering their width (25.5mm inner) and strength.  On the rear non-driveside DT Swiss’s triple butted Alpine III spokes were used for improved durability.  The Alpine III’s use a 2.3mm diameter wire at the elbow whereas most other spokes use a 2mm diameter.  Red Built By Southern Wheelworks decals were added and look right at home with the red hubs and stock Stan’s decals.
